Stele of Shemen
Funerary monument and ornaments
New Kingdom, Dynasty XVIII, reign of Amenhotep III (1390-1353 B.C.)

This stele shows the dead man seated holding a lotus flower. His wife and one daughter are in front of him; the other daughter is at his foot. Inscriptions alongside the personages identify them by their names, while the usual funerary formula is inscribed above.
